Bakso Recipe

Bakso Recipe
Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef or chicken
- 250g tapioca flour
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp white pepper
- 1 egg
- 200ml ice water
- Beef broth (for boiling)
- Noodles (optional, for serving)
- Green onions and fried shallots (for garnish)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, minced garlic, salt, and white pepper.
- Add the egg and mix well with your hands or a spoon until everything is evenly combined.
- Gradually add the tapioca flour while mixing. Continue to mix until the dough becomes sticky but firm.
- Slowly pour in the ice water while kneading the mixture. This will help make the bakso tender and bouncy.
- Once the dough is smooth and elastic, shape it into small balls (about 1-inch in diameter).
- Bring a pot of beef broth to a gentle boil. Carefully drop the meatballs into the boiling broth one by one.
- Cook the bakso for about 10-15 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are fully cooked through.
- Remove the bakso from the broth and set them aside.
- To serve, prepare a bowl of hot noodles (if using), add the cooked bakso on top, and ladle some hot broth over it.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and fried shallots. Enjoy!
Tips: You can adjust the seasoning according to your taste. For extra flavor, you can also add fish sauce or soy sauce to the broth.
